Come in from the cold.
A bathhouse in the old harbour. A wood-fired sauna, a steam room, a cold plunge and a warm pool, then a quiet room to come back down.
The bathhouse
Two hours, three rounds, and nowhere else to be.
Heat opens you up, cold brings you back, rest does the rest. Most people go round three times. Phones stay in the lockers, towels and robes are on us.

The baths
Five rooms, each at its own warmth. Stay as long as it feels right, these are only the usual times.
The sauna
85 °C, 12 min
The steam room
45 °C, 10 min
The cold plunge
6 °C, 1 min
The warm pool
36 °C, 20 min
The quiet room
21 °C, 15 min

Heat, then cold, then nothing at all.
About two hours in all. You leave lighter than you came.
The pouring
Three times a day, the stones get water.
A sauna master pours scented water on the stones and moves the heat around the room with a towel. Fifteen minutes, no booking. Find a seat on the top bench.
Treatments
Booked on top of a session. Every treatment starts after time in the heat, when the muscles have let go.
